Experience details
The day, considered
Yering Station sits an hour from Melbourne on the Melba Highway, at the point where the Yarra Valley stops being farmland and starts being wine country. It was the first vineyard planted in Victoria, and the estate has the buildings to prove it — the original cellar door is still the cellar door. We collect you from your door - Melbourne CBD and inner suburbs. Further out, and we'll quote the pickup separately. Coats and bags go in the boot, the freeway is somebody else's problem, and you arrive at the estate with the day already underway rather than starting from the car park. Upon arrival at Yering Station's Restaurant, you'll be welcomed with a glass of Yarrabank sparkling to enjoy as you join a guided half-hour tour of the estate with one of the people who knows and works the property. It's an opportunity to discover the history, landscape and winemaking behind Yering Station, giving your lunch a sense of place and context before you sit down to dine. Lunch is three courses in the signature restaurant, looking out onto expansive views of the Yarra Ranges, with wine from the Village and Estate collections poured across the table through the afternoon. Dietaries go to the kitchen days ahead. Coffee or tea comes with dessert, and nobody moves you along afterwards. Before you leave, enjoy a tailored half-hour wine tasting experience, guided by our Cellar Door team within the heritage-listed building. Then home whenever the table breaks up. Nobody nominates a driver and nobody watches the clock. Two to six guests. Planned end to end by one person at PLR, with nothing to settle at the venue unless you order beyond the package. Bookings close five business days before your date. The day is built properly or it isn't built.
Your chauffeur stays with you for the duration
A professional chauffeur and a Mercedes from your door and back to it, on the clock for the full experience. Two hours of freeway you don't drive, on the one day you'd least like to be driving it.
Yarrabank sparkling, poured in Yering Station's signature Restaurant
A glass of Yarrabank Sparkling Cuvée on arrival at the signature restaurant, poured before the walk through the property rather than once you're seated for lunch.
A guided half-hour through the estate
Thirty minutes walking the property with someone who works it — the original buildings, the plantings, and what the season has actually done. Not a self-guided map. You sit down to lunch already knowing what you're drinking.
Three courses overlooking the Yarra Ranges
Three seasonal courses in the signature restaurant, with two glasses of wine from the Village and Estate collections, paired across lunch. Barista coffee or tea with dessert. Dietary requirements handled days in advance rather than apologised for on the day, and the table is yours for as long as the conversation lasts.
A guided tasting in the heritage cellar door
A bespoke half-hour tasting before you leave, seated and guided in the original cellar door rather than standing at the public counter. The last thing you do on the estate, not the first.
One person, the whole day
One person at PLR handles the estate booking, the timings, the dietaries, the seating and the chauffeur. You give us a date and a headcount. There is nothing to settle at the venue unless you order beyond the package.
